Ocean Wise Led Shoreline Cleanup

Ocean Wise led Shoreline Cleanups allow your group of students to gain a more in-depth understanding of the ocean plastic pollution problem and how they can be a part of the solution!

By participating in a Shoreline Cleanup, your students will gain new knowledge around the plastic pollution problem through discussion-based learning and hands-on experiences in data collection. Book your Ocean Wise Led Shoreline Cleanup today!

Whether you are bringing your group to a local beach, or looking to cleanup your school's playground, your group can have a positive impact on your local environment through the Shoreline Cleanup program!

Our shoreline staff will begin by leading your group through a brief introductory activity and discussion session about plastic pollution in our ocean. Students will use this opportunity to reflect on the plastics they see around them every day, and connect it to what they've been learning in school.

Next, our staff will facilitate a shoreline cleanup! This experience will teach your students how to become citizen scientists through the use of our data card, and inspire them to support environmental health through daily action and involvement in STEAM-based activities.

Your session will conclude with a final weigh in, where your group will discuss their findings together. They will brainstorm as a group how they can prevent ocean pollution in their own lives, and find hope that they can play a vital role in protecting their local environment.

Our staff are First Aid trained, and will provide safety briefings prior to the start of the cleanup event, monitoring participant safety throughout.

We are currently available to program in Metro Vancouver! Please ensure you are located within the frame above prior to booking with us.
