🌊 The Virtual Aquaclass brings the magic of the ocean straight into your classroom—or living room—through live, interactive learning experiences.
Students dive into inquiry-based adventures led by one of our expert educators via video conferencing. Together, we’ll explore your chosen ocean theme with real artifacts, multimedia resources, and hands-on engagement—from trivia challenges to problem-solving quests that spark curiosity and teamwork.
Every program is designed to connect directly with curriculum themes while building core competencies in:
Critical Thinking – analyzing evidence and solving real-world ocean problems
Creative Thinking – imagining solutions and designing new ideas
Communication – sharing discoveries and working collaboratively
Personal & Social Responsibility – reflecting on our role in caring for the ocean
✨ Programs are 45 minutes each, $100 per session, and always include Q&A time with our ocean experts.
Choose from a wide variety of ocean topics—or customize your program* to suit your class’s unique needs and interests!
Class Size: We recommend a maximum of 30 students. As we are connecting with you remotely, we rely on the adults in the room to assist with group management and facilitate the Q&A portion. The amount of time for individual to ask questions and interact will depend on the number of people in the call.
Technology Requirements: Programs require a strong internet connection, and access to a video/sound system. This can be achieved through a laptop. In the classroom we recommend connecting your laptop to a projector to provide an optimal viewing opportunity for all participating students.
After a program is booked you will receive information on how to schedule a Tech Test with the coordinator. This is a 10-15 minute practice run, without the students, to see what the program will look like ahead of time. During this Tech Test we will determine the best platform for your program
Program Length: All programs are 45 minutes long, and include an interactive presentation, multi-media visuals, and Q&A time between students and our expert staff.
Booking Times: Programs are available on Tuesdays for 45 minute blocks at 10:15am PT or 2:15pm PT. Times are subject to change. Please reach out to online.learning@ocean.org for any timining/scheduling customizations.
Program Cost: Programs are $100 CAD per session.
Other after school groups/clubs: select evening times available. Please inquire before booking Online.Learning@ocean.org
